ALTHOUGH as a car nut, I enjoy driving cars powered by internal combustion much more than EVs, as a matter of policy, I think the US needs to make it easier for American drivers to switch to EVs. If we don't replace burning oil and gas with electricity, the world is going to become increasingly less livable.
Pointless. You can't replace an industrial paradigm with another industrial paradigm and think you're making a statistically significant step towards a sustainability. The smart transportation solution is a nationwide high-speed rail system powered by renewables and integrated with local light rail powered by the same. You could remove 750 million of the 900 million domestic airline flights per year and easily take half of the cars off the road overnight. The goal is to get cars parked, for months at a time.
My God the movie of Life increase alone would justify it let alone the environmental benefits. You could be reading, getting work done, enjoying the views, sleeping. And, given the state of City traffic and airport locations, you can get your destination far quicker with a short bike ride or a few block walk. You must be an American… don't fucking get it
