Reasons For Hope
China installed 93 GW (93,000 MW) of new solar power in May 2025, four times more than in May 2024 and a new all-time monthly record. That’s more solar installed in one month than any one other country installed in all of 2024.
This brought China’s total cumulative installed solar capacity to over 1 terawatt (1 TW equals 1,000 GW or 1,000,000 MW), out of a total 3.61 TW of electricity-generating capacity from all sources. China has installed more than 1 GW (1,000 MW) of solar every day for the first five months of 2025.
For context, the U.S. has just over 1.3 TW in total nationwide electricity-generating capacity from all sources. The U.S. installed 56 GW (56,000 MW) of new power from all sources in all of 2024, and over 90% of that was from solar, batteries, and wind.
It’s clearer by the day that abundant clean electricity is the present and the future, with fossil fuels consigned to the dirty, inefficient past. Recent reports from Ember analysts show that solar plus batteries is increasingly close to being able to provide 24/7 power year-round!
Yet Congress is considering a budget that would senselessly cut innovation-incentivizing clean energy tax credits (and introduce nightmarishly unworkable red tape with “prohibited foreign entity” rules that may be literally impossible to comply with!), senselessly slashing America’s share of the major source of new electricity in human civilization today.
One recent report calculated that the House proposed budget’s attacks on clean energy would decrease U.S. GDP by $1.1 trillion through 2034 — and another report finds that it would put two million jobs at risk!
A third report forecast that this budget will slash clean energy build-out across America from the previous “with tax credits” projection of nearly 1,000 GW (one terawatt!) by 2035 to only about 342 GW (0.34 TW) by 2035.
If this bill passes, the U.S. will self-sabotage on an unprecedented scale, deliberately choosing to have a less abundant electricity supply (meaning higher prices for consumers across the nation, a self-imposed disadvantage in the AI race, and more) and less domestic battery manufacturing capacity (a serious national security issue in a world where battery-powered drones are increasingly dominating modern battlefields).
China isn’t centering their economy on clean energy manufacturing and export because they’re devoted to fighting climate change. They’re doing it because solar panels, batteries, and EVs are efficient, scalable technologies that keep getting better and cheaper as you produce more of them, and producing and deploying a lot of them provides substantial geopolitical and military advantages from energy independence to hyperscaler AI development to drone manufacturing capacity.
Passing these U.S. budget proposals would be nothing less than a deliberate de-industrialization of America: governmental malpractice on a world-historic scale.
Congress must stand up to defend American industry, prosperity, and security from this reckless and senseless budget.

GHE requires Earth to radiate “extra” energy as a BB.

A BB requires all energy leaving the system to do so by radiation. Per TFK_bams09 60% leaves by kinetic modes, i.e. conduction, convection, advection and latent rendering BB impossible.
GHE is bogus and CAGW a scam so alarmists must resort to fear mongering, lies, lawsuits, censorship and violence.
